Ingredients
Scale
Sliders
- 12 Hawaiian rolls, split horizontally
- 8–10 slices American cheese or cheddar cheese
- 8–12 slices ham or turkey, optional
Seasoning and Toppings
- 3 tablespoons butter, softened (for brushing)
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard or honey mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- Fresh chives or parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preparation: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Split Rolls and Butter: Carefully split the Hawaiian rolls horizontally, keeping the tops and bottoms intact. Brush the cut sides with melted butter and sprinkle garlic powder on the outside if using, to add a subtle savory flavor.
- Layer Ingredients: On the bottom halves of the rolls, lay down the cheese slices evenly. If using, place the ham or turkey slices over the cheese layer.
- Add Mustard: Spread a thin layer of Dijon or honey mustard on the inside surface of the top halves to add a tangy contrast to the richness.
- Assemble Sliders: Place the top halves of the rolls back onto the bottom layers gently, press slightly to sandwich the fillings, and brush the tops with more softened butter for a golden crust.
- Bake: Place the assembled sliders on the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 8–10 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the tops are golden brown.
- Broil (Optional): For an extra crispy finish, broil the sliders for 1–2 minutes while watching closely to avoid burning.
- Serve: Remove the sliders from the oven, let them rest for 2 minutes, then slice into individual portions. Garnish with chopped fresh chives or parsley before serving.
Notes
- You can customize these sliders with dairy-free cheese slices for a vegan option.
- Adjust the amount of garlic powder or mustard to taste for more or less savory and tangy flavor.
- Using a broil step is optional but gives a nice crisp to the tops.
- Leftovers can be reheated in an oven or air fryer to maintain crispiness.
