Description

This Easy Garlic Butter Steak Bites recipe features tender, seared sirloin or ribeye cubes tossed in a rich garlic butter sauce and served with a luscious Parmesan cream sauce. Perfectly seasoned and quick to prepare, these steak bites make an indulgent meal when paired with pasta, mashed potatoes, or roasted vegetables. The dish balances savory steak with creamy, garlicky flavors and can be customized with optional additions like mushrooms or greens for extra nutrition and texture.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Garlic Butter Steak Bites

  • 1 lb (450g) sirloin or ribeye steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped fresh parsley for garnish

For the Parmesan Cream Sauce

  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes for a little heat

Instructions

  1. Prep the steak: Pat your steak cubes dry with paper towels and season them generously with salt and pepper to enhance flavor and promote a good sear.
  2. Sear the steak bites: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add steak cubes in batches to avoid overcrowding, which allows proper browning. Sear each batch for 2–3 minutes per side until nicely browned. Remove steak from the pan and set aside.
  3. Make the garlic butter: In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and melt 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant but not browned. Return the steak bites to the skillet and toss them in the garlic butter to coat evenly. Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. Prepare the Parmesan cream sauce: In a separate saucepan, melt 1 tablespoon unsalted butter over medium heat and sauté minced garlic for 30 seconds. Pour in 1 cup heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese and whisk continuously until the sauce is smooth and thickened, about 3–5 minutes. Season with salt, black pepper, and an optional pinch of red pepper flakes for heat.
  5. Combine and serve: Pour the creamy Parmesan sauce over the garlic butter steak bites or serve it on the side for dipping. Garnish the dish with chopped fresh parsley for a burst of color and freshness. Serve alongside pasta, mashed potatoes, or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat gently on the stove with a splash of cream or milk to loosen the sauce and prevent it from drying out.
  • Use freshly grated Parmesan cheese to avoid clumpy sauce; pre-shredded cheese contains anti-caking agents that inhibit smooth melting.
  • For a lighter sauce, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half.
  • Dairy-free alternatives include plant-based cream and vegan cheese, or coconut cream for a rich flavor.
  • Variations: Add sautéed mushrooms, mix in spinach or kale, or sprinkle crispy bacon bits for extra flavor and texture.
