Ingredients
Scale
Matcha Latte:
- 1 teaspoon Matcha Powder (Use high-quality, culinary-grade matcha powder.)
- 2 ounces Hot Water (Water should be just below boiling, around 175°F.)
- 1 cup Milk (Use dairy or non-dairy milk of your choice.)
- 1 teaspoon Sweetener (Adjust based on preference (honey, agave, or sugar).)
- 1/4 teaspoon Vanilla Extract (Adds subtle sweetness and aroma.)
Instructions
- Prepare Matcha: Measure out 1 to 2 teaspoons of matcha powder and sift it into a small bowl or mug.
- Whisk Matcha: Heat approximately 2 ounces of water until just below boiling. Pour this hot water over the sifted matcha powder and whisk until frothy.
- Heat Milk: In a saucepan, heat 1 cup of milk over medium heat, stirring occasionally. If making an iced latte, skip this step.
- Sweeten Matcha: Add sweetener and vanilla extract to the matcha mixture and stir well.
- Froth Milk: Once the milk is hot, remove it from heat. If desired, froth the milk for a creamy finish.
- Combine: Pour the heated milk into the matcha mixture, holding back any foam if desired.
- Serve: Top with remaining milk foam and sprinkle a bit of matcha powder on top for presentation. Enjoy warm or chilled!
