Description

Cheesy Garlic Chicken Wraps combine tender cooked chicken with a creamy, cheesy garlic filling, all wrapped in warm flour tortillas and toasted with a garlic butter crust. This quick and comforting dish delivers bold garlic flavor, melty cheese, and a satisfying crisp exterior, perfect for lunch, dinner, or make-ahead meal prep.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Filling

  • 2 cups cooked shredded or chopped chicken
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup softened cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley or 1 teaspoon dried parsley

Wrap & Assembly

  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • Optional: Baby spinach, shredded lettuce, or sliced tomatoes

Instructions

  1. Prepare the filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked shredded chicken, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, shredded mozzarella, shredded cheddar, softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, and chopped parsley. Stir thoroughly until the mixture is creamy and cohesive with no dry spots.
  2. Assemble the wraps: Lay each flour tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spoon approximately 1/4 of the filling onto the center of each tortilla. If desired, add optional baby spinach, shredded lettuce, or sliced tomatoes on top. Fold in the sides of the tortilla and roll tightly from the bottom to form a secure wrap.
  3. Brush with garlic butter: In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with minced garlic. Generously brush the outside of each wrap with the garlic butter mixture, making sure to cover the edges for even browning and flavor infusion.
  4. Toast the wraps: Heat a skillet or nonstick pan over medium heat. Place each wrap seam-side down in the skillet and gently press them down with a spatula. Cook for 2–3 minutes on each side or until the wraps are golden brown, crisp, and the cheese inside has melted completely. Work in batches if needed.
  5. Serve warm: Remove the toasted wraps from the skillet and let them rest for a minute. Slice each wrap in half diagonally, then serve immediately. Pair with your choice of dipping sauces such as ranch dressing, garlic aioli, or marinara sauce for extra flavor.

Notes

  • For extra richness, use softened cream cheese in the filling to ensure a smooth texture.
  • Wraps can be prepared ahead by storing the filling (up to 2 days) in the fridge, then assembling and toasting when ready.
  • Reheat leftovers in a skillet or oven to restore the crispy texture rather than microwaving.
  • For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes or your favorite hot sauce into the filling.
  • To prevent tortillas from tearing, warm them slightly before assembling.
  • These wraps freeze well un-toasted; wrap tightly in foil or plastic, thaw overnight, then toast as directed.
