For the Cake:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
For the Caramel Frosting:
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- 3–4 cups powdered sugar, sifted
For the Caramel Crunch Topping:
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds or pecans (optional)
Instructions
- For the Cake: Preheat oven, prepare pans. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Combine dry ingredients and milk. Bake and cool.
- For the Caramel Frosting: Melt butter, add sugar, cream, salt in a pan. Boil, add vanilla. Cool, beat in powdered sugar.
- For the Caramel Crunch Topping: Caramelize sugar and water, add nuts. Spread on sheet to cool.
- Assembling the Cake: Layer cake, frost, top with caramel crunch topping. Serve and enjoy!

- You can customize the nut topping with your favorite nuts like pecans or almonds.
