For the Sweet Potatoes:
- 5–6 medium sweet potatoes, peeled & cut into thin medallions
For the Sauce:
- ¼ cup unsalted butter
- ¼ cup brown sugar (light or dark)
- ½ cup water
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Toppings:
- ¼ cup chopped pecans or walnuts
- ½ cup mini marshmallows
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- In a saucepan, combine unsalted butter, brown sugar, water, spices, and salt.
- Remove dish from oven, uncover, and add remaining sauce, pecans, and marshmallows.
- Allow to cool, then serve and enjoy!
Peel sweet potatoes, cut them into thin medallions, and arrange them in your baking dish.
Heat on medium, stirring until melted. Brush ¾ of the sauce over sweet potatoes, cover with foil, and bake for 45-50 minutes.
Broil for 1-2 minutes until marshmallows are toasted.
